It is with deep sadness to inform you that Waymark’s founder, Mark, died peacefully from kidney cancer just before Christmas. Sadly, even for a man as strong as Mark, the cancer was too aggressive, but never once took his warm, generous character or sense of humour.
Right now, there simply aren’t enough words to describe how much Mark meant to Waymark – as a boss, mentor, ally, friend and, most importantly, to Avril as her devoted husband.
Mark worked in the financial services industry for over three decades, with 20 years spent as an independent financial adviser.
He founded Waymark in 2011 to provide high-quality, holistic client focused advice. As Mark grew the practice, the three things he loved most about his job were freedom in the workplace, the chance to continually learn and putting smiles on clients’ faces.
During his illness, Mark was moved by the response from colleagues, fellow professionals and most importantly from clients, many of whom said that he was their saviour.
There were two charities that really supported Mark during his illness and if you would like to make a donation in his memory, please click on the links below:
It is an honour and a privilege to be able to continue the company that Mark founded and see that his legacy lives on.
